Object of the Game: The objective of the Gin Rummy game is to collect a hand where most or all of the cards can be combined into sets and runs while keeping the point value of the remaining unmatched cards low. A run or sequence consists of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., Clubs 4, Clubs 5, Clubs 6) while a set or group is three or four cards of the same rank (e.g., Diamond 7, Heart 7, Spades 7). A card can only belong to one combination at a time - either a set or a sequence.

<li>Straight Gin: Both players try to get gin without knocking.</li>
<li>Oklahoma Gin: The value of the face-up card determines the maximum count of unmatched cards needed to knock.</li>
